NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

Take a moment today to show gratitude to the cafeteria staff as a part of COOKS APPRECIATION WEEK.  They do a great job at CCHS!

 

LIFESAVERS - If you are going to the retreat November 7-8th you must have your permission slip turned in by today, Friday, October 18th to Mrs. Wheeler (E100).

 

KEY CLUB: Do you avidly make Tik Tok lip sync videos? Do you love to pretend you are the star every time your favorite song comes on? Well, then Key Club has the event for you! Key Club will be holding a Lip Sync Battle on Friday, November 15th. You must audition to be a part of the Lip Sync Battle. There will be a sign-up sheet with additional information in front of the cafeteria every day this week, October 15th through the 18th, during both lunches. Be sure to sign up if you're interested!

 

TONIGHT IS "WEAR BLACK AND WHITE, IT'S RALLY TOWEL NIGHT" at the football game against Marion.  The first 200 Bleacher Bums will receive a rally towel to use during the game.  Let's pack the stands and beat Marion! GO TERRIERS!!! 

 

TODAY THE DIAL YEARBOOK STAFF AND THE TERRIER PRIDE COMMITTEE will be selling slices of pizza for $2 and cans of Pepsi products for $1.00 during both lunch hours across from the auditorium tomorrow, Friday, October 18th.  Come out and support both groups. 

 

Football Playoff T-shirt orders are due in the Principal's Office no later than Monday at 3 pm.  Please have exact change.  Order forms were passed out in all English classes yesterday.  Extra order forms are available for pick up in the office.  This will be the only order for football playoff shirts, so don't miss out.

 

Today the Terrier Pride Committee and the DIAL Yearbook Staff will be selling slices of pizza for $2 and cans of soda for $1 across from the auditorium during both lunch hours.  Stop by and support two good causes.  


NHS APPLICANTS:
  Please check your school email for the NHS application link.  All applications must be submitted online by Friday, November 1st @ 3:00 p.m.  Our next, and final application review session will be on Tuesday, October 22nd, in the auditorium from 3:05 – 3:30 p.m.  Thank you.

 

BOYS BOWLING try outs will be Monday, October 28th from 4:30-6:00 at SIU Bowling.. You must have a physical card to try out.


GIRLS BASKETBALL try-outs will be November 4th from 5:00-7:00.  Make sure you have a physical card before try-outs.

Congratulations to the varsity Scholar Bowl team on winning their Southern Illinois Academic Conference opening tournament in Centralia with wins over Marion, Centralia, Fairfield, and Edwards.  John Paul Taylor was tournament MVP with 35 correct toss-up questions.

DIAL Yearbook Layaway Program:  Only 14 days remain to start the DIAL Yearbook layaway program.  Pay $20 in October, November and December to purchase a 2020 yearbook.  Stop by the yearbook office before or after school to start your layaway today! 

 

CREATIVE WRITING CLUB: Creative Writing Club is holding a T-shirt design contest for our club shirts. We encourage all artistic people to enter the contest with their designs. The winner will receive a $25 Visa gift card. Come see Ms. Bachman in C213 for more details.

 

JUNIORS: Please stop by the bulletin board in the “H” hallway and sign up for Football concessions this Friday night against Marion. Remember each concession that you work you earn 5.00 towards your prom ticket and your guest prom ticket.  

 

AP Exam fees are due November 1st this year.  Each exam costs $94 unless you qualify for a waiver.  Money will be collected in AP classes by Ms. Koester and Mr. Graham on Friday, November 1st.

 

NHS IS SPONSORING SOCKTOBER, we will be collecting new socks in all sizes to be donated to the Women's center. Collections will go through the end of the month. DON'T FORGET ABOUT TERRIER TUTORING! Terrier Tutoring is your secret weapon in getting the best grades in your classes. We are open 3:15 to 4:45 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in rooms B202 and B204 in the Media Center. We are ready to help you in math, science, and English!
