NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS:

STUDENT COUNCIL will have a short meeting today in the cafeteria after school at 3:10 pm.  We will be discussing dress up themes for winter spirit week (Wednesday, January 19th).

ART CLUB will meet every other Wednesday after school from 3 to 4 in A100, this semester, starting today. We will talk about planning some activities for the semester so be there if you are interested. Everyone welcome. (Wednesday, January 19th). 

IMPROV COMEDY CLUB has been canceled for today.

There will NOT be a Science Club meeting today after school.

FCA will meet tomorrow at 6:30 a.m. at Mary Lou’s.  You do not have to be an FCA member to attend (Thursday, January 20th).

BLACK HISTORY CLUB: Dancers, Models, and Singers will meet tomorrow @ 3:30 pm in Mrs. Allen’s Room (Thursday, January 20th).

SPEECH TEAM has a team meeting tonight at 5:00 PM in the Library! Be there to run your pieces in preparation for the final tournament of the speech season at Belleville West this Saturday. Please attend, even if you have a conflict this weekend. See Frau Bassett if you have questions.

FFA: There will be a short FFA meeting after school tomorrow; please check the FFA google classroom for contest information (Thursday, January 20th).

FBLA will meet tomorrow (Thursday) after school in Mrs. McGee’s Room H106

CARBONDALE FIRE DEPARTMENT has teamed up with CCHS to offer a special job shadowing program to students.  Learn more about fire protection and service, go on fire calls, and gain experience and training in the field.  Pick up applications and learn more from Mrs. Jamieson in G105!

Student Council will have a short meeting in the cafeteria after school today at 3:10 pm.  We will be discussing Winter Spirit Week dress up themes.  Meeting minutes will be sent out after the meeting for those who cannot attend.

Did you fill out a compatibility survey in English, Am. History, or Civics? If not, Student Council will be set up today only during both lunch hours across from the cafeteria for students who need to complete a compatibility survey. 

Auditions for the Terrier Talent Show will take place next week, 1/25-1/27 in the choir room after school 3:15pm-5:00pm.  Check your CCHS email for more information and the link the sign up.  The Terrier Talent Show will be held on Saturday, February 26th at 6pm in the CCHS Auditorium.  First place will win $250!

Pink Out t-shirt orders are due in the Principal's Office by Tuesday, February 1st. Extra order forms can be picked up in the Attendance and the Principal's Office.  Pink Out shirts are on sale for $10.  Proceeds will go to the Coach Kill Cancer Fund.

Congratulations to the Freshmen Boys Basketball team on their 57-46 victory over Carterville last night!

PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

CREDIT RECOVERY for required class failures from last semester will start today (Tuesday) and Thursday from 3:15 pm-4:45 pm for this semester.  Please report to room B202 in the Library by 3:15. The late bus is running if you need transportation.

TRACK AND FIELD: Track and Field will resume workouts this week on Tuesdays/Thursday from 3:20-5:30 pm. We will meet outside the driver Ed room and be prepared to go outside.

POETRY OUT LOUD COMPETITION: The school will be hosting a Poetry Out Loud Recitation Contest on Friday, January 21st. The first and second place winners will move on to Regionals for a chance to advance to state and nationals where they could win cash prizes. If you are interested in competing, please check your email for more information or speak with Mrs. Godinez in room C213. There will also be an informational meeting this Friday after school in C213.
